OOTD | Cosy and Casual

December 21, 2016

This December has flown by incredibly fast, how is it only 4 days till Christmas? Today marks the 'official' start of Winter, but really I've been celebrating Winter since the middle of November. As soon as the temperature starts to drop, there's frost on the ground and I need to start digging out the big ol' sheep skin and my winter woollies - that's the start of Winter.

But after that initial chill in November, we've had a pretty mild December. And I was slowly loosing hope of the coveted White Christmas. I dream of it every year, and can hardly remember the last time snow fell on Christmas day, but year after year we seem to get all the cold but none of the fun.

Today, when I woke up for my turn at the morning dog walk, I had to defrost the car. Okay it was only a tiny bit that I had to scrap, and really just turning on the heating melted it away. And maybe it was more condensation than frost that had covered the windscreen. But I did feel a difference in the temperature. So my hopes have been lifted once more, and I'm starting to dream of a white Christmas once again.

To go with the wintry weather, a cosy outfit is needed.

I've started wearing this outfit so often throughout December. This is a cute little 90s style outfit, pairing a black polo neck with a dog tooth patterned pinafore. Its casual enough that I've worn it out and about during the day running errands, but can be dressed up for fancier occasions. Instead of wearing the black polo neck, I've worn a white one (also worn in this OOTD) as well as some coloured t-shirts and white shirts. It can be dressed up and dressed down, and that's what I look for in a new purchase.

As its got a lower neck line, I've been wearing my 21st Birthday present, which is a silver locket. I thought that this added something to the chest area, and love how it shows off my necklace.

Pinafore - Primark
Black polo neck - also Primark (but similar are in most shops)
Locket - Birthday Present
Boots - Topshop
Coat - Miss Selfridge (few years old now)
