My Skin Care Routine

September 22, 2014

Okay I'll admit it- I use the beauty bloggers big no no... Yes! I am one of those mad girls who use face wipes to take off their make up!

I don't know about you, but I see EVERYWHERE that using face wipes is one of the biggest sins to commit when it comes to skin care. But I use them every night and I'm still here to talk about it, and my skin isn't any worse for it.

Being teenagers of course we are going to get those pesky spots (and sometimes they are not small and coverable) but it's something we have to accept. And finding a skin care routine that at least minimises breakouts is something which every teenage girl seems to be searching for, and few actually know the holy treatment. So I'm not here with a miracle cure, I'm sorry to say, as I still haven't found it yet myself. BUT I do think my skin is in relatively good form- of course it depends the time of the month, if I'm getting stressed, or if I've had a few days of stuffing my face with unhealthy food- so I'll let you in on the couple of products that I use regularly and suit my skin.

Every night I use a Johnson's baby wipe to clean the make up off of my face, these are my favourite because they moisturise, and I feel like they get the majority of my makeup off.

I then use the simple range, and these are products that I regularly go back to over the years. First I use the purifying cleansing lotion and apply it with a cotton pad in circular motions all over my face and neck. I then use their soothing facial toner, which tightens up my pores. Finally I use the hydrating moisturiser. Moisturiser is my skin care enemy, I find that when I moisturise all over my face I start to break out over my chin and forehead. So I use the moisturiser over my cheeks, temples, eyes and nose; avoiding the danger areas.

If I am having a particularly bad time with my face, or there are a few blemishes that I want to get rid of, then I use Sudocrem. This is my life saviour- within a couple of days any spots will be dried up and gone, and I'm left feeling much better about it all.

In the morning, I simply wash my face with warm water and a face cloth before applying any makeup.

It's a really easy routine that I've gotten myself and takes next to no time at all. At night my skin feels cleansed and refreshed, and all make up is removed so that I don't get mascara stains over my pillow cases.
