Everyday Autumn Make Up Look

October 11, 2017

Summer swiftly came and went, and within a couple of days of changing the calendar page, the cold weather had set in. Scarves and boots are the new staple of my wardrobe, as each walk into uni requires trudging through piles of leaves while the wind hits.

To go with a new season, a new make up look is required. I've never been one to add many new products to my everyday make up bag - tried and tested is a rule I stick by. However, autumn make up is about using the warm colours on the eyes and berry tones on the lips. While over summer I've been all about the 'no make up make up look', I've now been utilising the products in my makeup bag to try and make a good first impression at the start of this new uni year.

For my base I've gone back to my favourite from last year, and that is Rimmel London's Match Perfection. It provides a light coverage, which is all I need after a summer without foundation. To hide the inevitable blemish and dark circle beneath the eye, I've stuck with a favourite concealer of beauty bloggers up and down the country, and that is Collection Lasting Perfection.

On my eyes, I've been loving the Makeup Revolution Girls on Film palette. I've had this palette for a few months and I'm still using it daily. For an everyday look, I like to use the light shimmery pink, blended with the dark brown matte, and a dark Burgundy in the outer corner. My long time favourite liquid eye liner is the Collection Fast Stroke, which has a neat little nib, making easy work of a cat eye. On my lashes, I've been rediscovering Benefit's They're Real. This mascara always makes my lashes pop, and leaves me with all the confidence of fake lashes. To keep the brow game strong, I've been Rimmel London's Brow This Way brow styling gel to set the hairs nicely, then filled in with Rimmel London's Brow powder.

For a hint at a summer glow, I've been using Make Up Academy's Bronzed Perfection Matte and Benefit's Hoola bronzer to contour. On the apple's of my cheeks, I use Sunkissed's blusher, a deeper red that's still quite subtle. And again, staying with a favourite, I use Makeup Revolution's Vivid Baked highlighter, which adds a gorgeous pink glow to my cheek bones.

One of the most important things in autumn is lip care - the change in weather can leave lips dry and cracked. While in the flat, or just popping to the library for the day, I've been using vaseline to keep my lips hydrated. But for a pop of colour on the lips, I like to use NYX matte lipstick in the shade Aria. This is a lovely berry toned lipstick which I think adds a lovely splash of colour to an otherwise very natural make up look.

What's your favourite autumn product? Mine has to be berry toned lipsticks!

Love,
Emily
