Ludlow's Market

August 02, 2014

You guessed it- another holiday post!

I'm trying to space holiday, sight seeing posts around some different posts, so that its not all samey-samey.

While in Leominster, we drove along the country roads for a mere 10 minutes, before we reached Ludlow, another small village, in which my brother works. Each Thursday they hold a market stall in the town square, which we had a wander about.

Although small in scale, the market was really cute, with stalls of hand made wood work, handmade jams and chutneys as well as book stalls. Here we bought a lot of chutneys of different flavours, which we are still getting through weeks down the line, as well as 2 jars of Eleanor's favourite Lemon curd, all of which come packaged in adorable little jars with card labels including their ingredients. Bunting was up around the square, giving it a holiday atmosphere, and with the sun shining there was a lovely feel to the area.

We had made the trip hoping to taste a burger stall which Anthony had raved on about, as they were local and prepared on the stall, but typically, the week we go and they're not there! So instead, when Anthony came out to meet us for his lunch we went to an amazing sandwich shop to have one of their famous pulled pork sandwiches- right off of a pig which was in the window. It came with hot apple sauce over it and huge bits of crackling; it was so huge that none of us could eat our whole baguette.

So if you're ever in that area of England, be sure to make a trip over to Ludlow- the town itself is adorable too, with lots of little boutiques and charity shops to explore.

Thanks for reading,
love,
Emily

  1. Hello! You commented on my blog for my road trip essentials because I came to Scotland! For some reason it won't let me reply and I didn't want you to think that I was ignoring you! I had a great time in Scotland and it was raining but I enjoyed it nethertheless! Where abouts are you from? I live in sunny ol' yorkshire! I'm back tonight!

    1. Thanks for replying- thats really kind of you! If only you were in Scotland now- the weather seems to have changed for the better and its actually shorts and t shirt weather! I'm glad you enjoyed yourself, I'm from Aberdeen, but I study in Edinburgh so I spend my time between the two. I've surprisingly never been to Yorkshire- my family seem to have been basically everywhere except there. Maybe I'll have to make a trip down one time haha.
Glad you had a good break
