I thought I'd come back to the blogosphere with a little beauty / makeup post. The other day I went to pick up a new foundation, and being a savvy student I thought I'd try out a drug store brand instead of the Clinique that I always use.
And walking up and down the super drug make up isles, I finally settled on Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid Foundation, in light porcelain. Despite some negative reviews for it on the web, I really like this foundation. The colour match is pretty good- being so fair, I find it hard not to look a little orange with the average shades of foundation, concealer and such. It also makes my skin feel very soft and hydrated and stays on for the whole day.
So this is sure to become a staple in my everyday make up routine. AND since that was on my mind- what a better way to link into an everyday make up look. For university I tend to keep my makeup fairly light and nothing too obvious. I also don't like to wear all of my more expensive makeup for just sitting in lectures or falling asleep in the library, so I tend to save that if I've got some plans or am going out.

And the finished look?
I like to keep it nice, simple and subtle. Not too much that its obvious that I'm wearing makeup, but enough that I've got a little glow, a bit of cover up and that added confidence that make up can give. My skin is so fair that I hate to put too much bronzer or blush on, and have started to try and embrace the pale-ness, after all there are so many beautiful celebs with pale skin that it can't be that bad a thing. Plus when I tan in summer, it is super noticeable and I go super tanned- so there's a positive of this wintery porcelain skin.
What's your natural, everyday make up essentials? I'd love to give some other products a go!
Love,
Emily
